New Changes in Funeral Pricing

Be advised that a few Funeral Homes have made substantial changes in their pricing structure.

Prices have typically been raised on service items in order to lower casket prices.  It appears the most popular items for the increases are the “non declinable” fee for the Funeral Director and Staff and the embalming cost.

Locally, in the Austin area, there have been Major Increases to the “non declinable” fee and up to a 100% increase in the embalming fee which every family must pay if there is going to be a public viewing.  This allows profits that would have been made on the sale of high priced caskets to be protected in service fees and a Funeral Home appears to be very competitive in their pricing. Although the price of the caskets have been lowered the combined price of the funeral with the casket certainly has not. Selecting a Funeral Home with inflated service cost could substantially reduce the savings your family can make by purchasing the casket from your local Casket Store.

• The packages rarely contain a group of identical items.

• Select the basic services that would be the minimum necessary for a funeral service with out including a casket.

• This figure is what you want to compare.
